CIAVATTONE IS LOCATED IN A PLACE WHERE NATURE IS THE ABSOLUTE PROTAGONIST. HOWEVER, GUESTS CAN ALSO ENJOY ANCIENT VILLAGES, HISTORY, CULTURE, TRADITIONS AND, OF COURSE, FOOD AND WINE
Introdacqua – the area in which Ciavattone is located – is a place where nature is the absolute protagonist. However, guests can also enjoy ancient villages, history, culture, traditions and, of course, food and wine. Abruzzo cuisine is often inspired by simple raw ingredients, but never bland and always able to enhance the earth and sea produce. The watchword is the quality of raw ingredients of a generous and varied territory that guests will also be able to enjoy in our facility.
Introdacqua, located just a few kilometres from Sulmona, is overlooked by the Morrone mountains, a mountain range in the Abruzzo Apennines. Whether arriving from Pescara or Rome, the A24/25 motorway runs alongside parts of the ancient Tiburtina Valeria, which is the main road that connected Rome to the Adriatic coast.
A short distance from Sulmona/Pratola is Corfinio (the capital of the Italic League), who then rose up against the government of Rome and minted their own currency, calling themselves ‘Italy’ for the first time.
The greenery reigns supreme: Abruzzo boasts the title of ‘Green Region of Europe’ thanks to its three national parks. These include Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, the Majella National Park, as well as the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park; plus the Sirente-Velino Regional Nature Park and 38 other protected areas, which account for 36.3% of the region’s total surface area. We are very proud of this European recognition.
